What happened to the Washougal dog park?
Washougal's only public off-leash area, the Donald and Angeline Stevenson Off-Leash Area on Addy Street, closed in late April 2017. The 16-acre site was privately owned, and the owner put it up for sale for housing and retail.
A 2017 plan to use a 5.5-acre parcel next to Grove Field airport didn't happen. In 2023, Camas city leaders talked again about building a park with DOGPAW, the nonprofit that runs Clark County's dog parks. None has opened as of October 2026.

A closer park is planned
Clark County agreed to let DOGPAW build a dog park on a 10.8-acre county parcel at NE 192nd Avenue and NE 9th Street in east Vancouver, a short drive from Camas. It will be fenced with a double-gated entry. There's no opening date yet, and this page will be updated when there is.
